The Location
The unique, lush beauty of Kangaroo Valley is well known to many. Jingella Estate is in an elevated private enclave which is widely regarded by locals as the premier location in Kangaroo Valley. You will understand why the minute you turn into Jingella Estate. You will be struck by the unique sense of space and the majesty of the golden sandstone escarpment that stretches 180 degrees directly in front of you from the knolls in the north to the distant views down to Kangaroo Valley village in the south. As secluded as it is, Jingella Estate is only 10 minutes from Kangaroo Valley’s quaint village, about 30 minutes to Berry, Bowral and Nowra, forty-five minutes to wineries and uncrowded beaches and about 2 hours to Sydney and Canberra.
The Eco-Luxe Villas
We coined the expression Eco-Luxe to describe our villas. What do we mean by Eco-Luxe? Most so called ‘Eco’ places are not off-grid and most off-grid places are quite basic and not at all luxurious. We offer something different to fill this gap. Our villas provide you with an opportunity to have a carbon neutral experience that does not compromise your comfort or enjoyment. If you like, it’s a taste of how you can live in style in a sustainable way. How do we do that?
The Eco Part
Jingella Estate is totally off-grid. All our power is sourced from the sun and any excess power is stored in batteries for use when the sun goes down. If guests use more power at night than is stored in the batteries, then a diesel generator provides back-up power. The generator obviously detracts from the carbon neutral experience, and we will explain how you can minimise or avoid the need for it. Rainwater is harvested from the roof, stored in our tanks, and pumped through a special UV filter to kill bacteria. Waste from toilets and grey water is treated onsite in our Advanced Enviro Septic system which, unlike most septic systems, provides a secondary treatment to the waste which purifies it prior to absorption.
The Luxe Part
The villas are all brand new, architect- designed, with full length windows to capture the stunning views from every room. Each villa has its own unique exterior and high-end country modern interior design and styling. Every bedroom has a fan, aircon, private ensuite and super comfortable king-size beds that can be configured to suit individuals or couples. The open plan lounge/dining area offers plush sofas, TV with wired internet connection, a fan and aircon and an open fireplace. For the keen cook, we provide a fully equipped spacious kitchen with European appliances. Under the large, covered patio is a BBQ and stylish outdoor lounge set that leads to an open fire pit area where you can watch the stars in the evening.
The Experience
We offer more than accommodation. We offer an experience. You could choose not to leave your villa – as some guests choose to do - and take in the ever-changing scenery as the weather, daylight and wildlife come and go. But Jingella Estate offers so much more. With 146 acres of grassland, forest and creek frontage you have much to explore. You can encounter a wide variety of wildlife on the property such as kangaroos, wallabies, wombats, platypus, echidna, wild goats, deer, foxes, ducks and numerous birds. However what sets Jingella Estate apart is our own glow-worm sanctuary, our private golf facility and our Olympic-sized natural pool in the creek which in normal conditions can be used for wild swimming, kayaking and tubing.
